When buying OEM, you can be sure that the toner cartridge you put in your printer is exactly to the manufacturers specification and is the original part. Non-OEM or compatible
A compatible part is a re-manufactured toner cartridge. When an OEM toner cartridge has been used, it is returned for
re-manufactureing. This is where the cartridge is refurbished and resold to be used again.

Warning: There are a large number of toner remanufacturers out there and you need to be careful who you buy from.
Many big name suppliers offer a choice OEM or compatible, but, we've noticed that the compatible is usually a low quality brand and the price isnt that much cheaper than the OEM product.
